The digital revolution has raised the issue of the branch’s role

“Branches will shift towards a commercial role and will stop having a transactional role. There is evidence that proves customers would rather handle their transactions digitally, and this will continue to intensify until the physical network vanishes.”

In an opinion column featured on AmericaEconomia, Estanislao Vieyra, Sales VP at Technisys, explains how the digital transformation in banking will transform branches, their layout, location and function, and how this will change banks’ business models and consumer behavior, too. “Nowadays, high-traffic branches subsidize those located in low-density areas, yielding a highly inefficient structure. Branches will be transformed to focus on merely commercial and digital customer relations operations.”
