Smartwatches, a challenge for Colombian banks

With the emergence of smartwatches, the dynamics between financial institutions and their customers will change as they will provide more comfort and security for banking operations.

As far as the local scene goes, Asobancaria’s president said Colombia is behind in terms of capacity and use of eCommerce. However, there are several banks that are already providing their customers with services they can access from their mobile devices to make banking transactions.

Héctor Franco, Mobile, Tablets, Selfservice and Smart TV ecosystems manager at Technisys, explained that smartwatches will not replace the devices that are currently offering mobile banking experiences, such as smartphones; they will complement each other.
